The 2009 conference of the GSA will be held in Brisbane, Australia. The meeting will begin with a welcome reception on the evening of Tuesday, July 7 and continue with three full days of symposia and concurrent sessions on July 8-10. The conference venue is the University of Queensland situated in St. Lucia a few kilometers from the city centre, with a night of fine dining at heritage-listed Customs House in the city on the evening of July 9. The International Congress of Genetics is held just once every five years. In July 2003 the XIX International COngress of Genetics will be held in Melbourne, Australia.
A total of 300 elite, invited speakers will address the Congress. The remarkable lineup of special guests and speakers at the 2003 Genetics Congress includes six Nobel Laureates - Sydney Brenner, Peter Doherty, Robert Hortiz, John Sutston, Susumu Tonegawa and Eric Wieschaus.
