Human Genetics and Global Healthcare

Tuesday July 8, 8.30am - 5.30pm

This special one day Symposium to bring together delegates from a range of disciplines with interests in the translation of human genetic research to the community. An informed community is dependent on education, availability and accessibility of skilled counselling, and an awareness of related ethical issues. In this context the community refers to the providers of genetic information as well as the receivers. Topics will include genetics education of health professionals, educators and other members of the community, and counselling of families in an increasingly complex genetic, technological and ethical environment.
