Tour Desk at Congress

There will be a tour desk operating on all Congress Days from 9.00am to 2.00pm. Congress delegates will be able to get information and make bookings on a variety of other tours and activities.

Sunday July 6th
The Grand City Walk


Depart Congress Centre with our guide, Lord Melbourne and aboard a public tram travel into the city. Walk along Collins Street, taking in the Rialto Building, ANZ Bank, 333 Collins St, Block & Royal Arcades. Stop for a light lunch at Australia on Collins before continuing along Collins Street to the Independent Church, foyer at 101 Collins and Reserve Bank mural, St Patrick's Cathedral and Parliament House.

Cost: $55.00 per person, based on a minimum of 25 people.

Includes: Tram ticket.

Morning tea.

Sunday July 6th
Macedon Wineries

Travel to the north at a leisurely pace to the Cope-Williams Winery at Romsey. The quaint cricket oval and pavilion, protected by cypress trees present a setting unlike any other and the wines, especially their sparkling Romsey Brut complement the surroundings beautifully. A genuinely warm welcome is extended here. A short drive away is the Glen Erin Grange Winery at Lancefield. Nestled in the foothills of the Macedon Ranges the setting is one of serenity. The Grange Restaurant offers a rustic feel with exposed Oregon beams and feature timber walls, an ideal backdrop for the country gourmet cuisine that is served.

After lunch travel to the short distance to the Hanging Rock Winery. A prolific producer of wine with grapes sourced from numerous regions the wide range offers something for all. The final winery to be visited would be the Mt Macedon Winery. Tucked away on the edge of the State Forest, this is one of the most idyllic settings in the district and a delightful place to conclude the tour.

Monday July 7th
City Sights

Discover why Melbourne is known for it's old world charm, beautiful gardens and it's historic Victorian buildings. In the city see the Old Customs House and colourful Queen Victoria Market and in nearby Carlton the iron laced works of the terraced houses. Travel past Parliament House, St Patrick's Cathedral, Melbourne Cricket Ground, the National Tennis Centre, the Shrine of Remembrance before stopping at the Royal Botanic Gardens. Continue on through the quaint inner city suburbs of South Melbourne and Port Melbourne. The tour concludes with panoramic views of Melbourne from the Rialto Towers Observation Deck.

Cost: $55.00 per person, based on a minimum of 30 people.

Tuesday July 8th
Artists Trail

Travel out to Heide Museum of Modern Art where a guided tour of the gallery would feature and there'd be time to wander through the tranquil garden down to the river. The theme would continue along the Artists Trail where a guided tour through sections of the bush made famous by the Heidelberg School of artists would feature.

Thursday July 10th
Aboriginal Heritage Walk & Botanic Gardens

Transfer across to the Botanic Gardens and be taken on a guided walk by Koorie guides. Share in the wealth of plant lore and discover more of their rich and vibrant culture. There'd be a break for a light lunch before taking in more of the Gardens features.

Wednesday July 9th
Wildlife & Wine

 

Take the scenic route out to the beautiful Yarra Valley. With it's rolling hills and ever increasing fields of vines, the region has re-established itself as one of the country's premium producers of cool climate wines. The first stop would be made at the Healesville Sanctuary, home to more than 200 species of native animals in a natural bush setting. A guided tour of this first class facility would be provided.

Late afternoon, travel back to the family owned De Bortoli Winery at Dixons Creek where a tasting of their premium wines would be provided with cheese and biscuits. From the cellar door adjourn to their award winning restaurant where a three course a la carte meal would feature.

Cost: $121.00 per person, based on a minimum of 30 people.

Penguins


Enjoy the antics of the world's smallest penguins at fascinating Phillip Island. The sight of Australia's largest fairy penguin colony emerging from the surf and waddling up the beach with food for their young brings howls of delight from an enthralled crowd. A visit would also be made to the Koala Conservation Centre.
Cost: $99.00 per person, based on a minimum of 30 people.

Flora and Fauna
